About Levitt Capital Management
Levitt Capital Management (LCM) is an award-winning, European-based, fee-only advisory firm dedicated exclusively to cross-border wealth management for U.S. citizens and U.S. persons living in Europe.
We combine European licensing, U.S. regulatory fluency and deep cross-border expertise to deliver fully compliant investment, tax-treaty, retirement and estate structuring strategies appropriate for Americans abroad.
Clients rely on us to design, implement, and coordinate the long-term architecture of their wealth across two systems that are often contradictory, complex, and unforgiving.
Who We Are
LCM was created to address a structural gap: traditional U.S. advisors cannot effectively serve European residents and European advisors cannot safely serve U.S. persons. LCM is built for the intersection – integrating U.S. investment, tax and reporting requirements with European regulations, currency realities, pension systems and civil law estate frameworks.
We operate as a boutique advisory firm with institutional-grade standards. Our team-based model ensures depth, continuity and rigor in every aspect of the advisory relationship.
Our Philosophy
Cross-border wealth management for Americans in Europe must be:
* Technically precise
* Fiduciary standards (meaning putting the client’s interests first)
* Transparent
* Compliant under two regulatory regimes
* Tax-aware across jurisdictions
* Aligned with euro-denominated lives
* Structurally correct for long-term planning
* Coordinated across legal, tax and financial disciplines
LCM serves as the client’s principal advisor, identifying issues, designing the overarching strategy and coordinating with external specialists when appropriate. Clients benefit from a coherent, integrated approach backed by deep cross-border understanding.
What We Do
Cross-Border Portfolio Architecture
LCM builds and managers investment portfolios that remain compliant and appropriate under both U.S. and European regulations.
Our approach includes:
* Selecting investments compatible with both systems (avoiding PFICs, managing MiFID II constraints)
* Integrating U.S. and European custodians
* Aligning portfolios with Euro-liability structures
* Navigating legacy positions and embedded capital gains
* Structuring long-term, multi-currency investment strategies
We design portfolios based on a deep understanding of the regulatory, tax and currency realities that define the lives of Americans in Europe.
Dual-Regime Tax & Treaty-Informed Structuring
While LCM does not prepare tax returns or provide legal services, we design cross-border wealth strategies fully informed by U.S.-Europe tax treaties and dual-jurisdiction tax obligations.
We advise on:
* Aligning investments with treaty provisions
* Minimizing exposure to dual taxation
* Optimizing the tax treatment of dividends, interest and capital gains
* Understanding treaty implications for pensions
* Coordinating with legal and tax specialists when formal execution is required.
Tax-treaty literacy is central to LCM’s advisory process.
Estate, Succession & Wealth Transfer Strategy
Americans residing in Europe face significant conflicts between U.S. estate rules and European civil-law frameworks.
LCM helps clients structure assets to:
* Comply with local succession rules (e.g., forced heirship)
* Align with U.S. estate and gift tax standards
* Coordinate marital property regimes
* Avoid cross-border inconsistencies
* Support multi-jurisdiction inheritance planning
Where legal instruments must be drafted or amended, LCM collaborates with notaires and attorneys to ensure implementation fits the overall structure.
Retirement & Pension Coordination
LCM evaluates and integrates:
* U.S. retirement accounts (IRAs, 401(k), Roth accounts)
* European pensions (PER, PEA, assurance-vie, occupational pensions)
We assess compatibility, treaty treatment, and long-term implications for withdrawal sequencing, reporting, and tax efficiency, building retirement strategies that function coherently under both systems.
Cross-Border Compliance & Governance
LCM ensures all portfolio and planning decisions align with:
* MiFID II
* European local suitability rules
* FATCA and FBAR reporting
* U.S. tax and reporting frameworks
* Custodial restrictions in both jurisdictions
Compliance in cross-border wealth management is not administrative, it is structural.
LCM designs and maintains frameworks that endure regulatory change.
Why LCM
European-Licensed + U.S.-Fluent
LCM is licensed under European regulatory frameworks and fully versed in U.S. constraints, a necessary combination for advising Americans abroad.
Deep Cross-Border Expertise
Our specialization is narrow and highly technical: we serve only U.S. citizens and U.S. persons in Europe.
This focus provides the depth required for complex, multi-jurisdictional planning.
Portfolio Architecture U.S. or EU Advisors Cannot Replicate
We design portfolios that are simultaneously compliant, tax-efficient and accessible under both regimes — something U.S.-only or EU-only advisors cannot achieve.
Coordination With Best-in-Class Specialists
When tax, legal, succession, or pension experts must act, LCM manages the integration, ensuring coherence across disciplines.
Clients do not manage multiple advisors; LCM does.
Boutique With Institutional-Grade Standards
We maintain the governance, documentation, compliance discipline and long-term oversight expected of serious private-client firms.
Selective and Aligned with Complex Client Needs
LCM works with clients whose financial lives demand true cross-border competence. Selectivity protects quality and ensures that each client receives the depth of service appropriate to their complexity.
