Levitt Capital Management (LCM) is an award-winning independent advisory firm specializing in advice for American citizens and their families, living throughout Europe. Our clients typically are either retired, entrepreneurs, inheritors of family wealth, corporate executives and French citizens who have recently returned from the United States and are still subject to US taxation through their green card,. They are seeking sophisticated advisors, familiar with cross border issues and solutions. Our clients are seeking stability, confidence, reactivity, transparency, a global vision and the ability to customize personal advice to work with existing assets, many of which have large capital gains. They are not seeking product solutions but strategies and they wish to be in conformity with rules and regulations in Europe and in the United States and an advisor who will act as a fiduciary, putting their interests first. They are seeking a firm which is regulated, not in an obscure tax haven, but in the country in which they are based. They also seek digital access to their accounts and strategic communications but with the human connection central and ever present. They understand the importance of minimizing taxes, yet they understand that the ultimate objective in investment management is the after-tax, after-fee, risk adjusted return, over the long term.
The firm provides services across wealth management, investment management with low to modest risk tolerance, estate, inheritance, gift and succession planning, philanthropic strategies and cross-border taxation for US citizens living in Europe and/or specific strategic advice for those contemplating relocation from the United States. Investment management is done in-house in order to comply with the various restrictions on US citizens. It also allows us to customize portfolios, such as manage around legacy low-cost basis positions or any sort of restrictions the client may have.
The European financial world was not built for Americans subject to dual tax systems and dual regulatory structures. LCM is focused on providing long-term solutions that aimed at solving the increasingly complex and constantly changing financial threats and regulatory challenges faced by U.S. citizens abroad, including dual taxation, US retirement plans (IRAs), European pension plans, restrictions on investments and compliance with both U.S. and European laws.
This pioneering company works on a fee-only basis. Clients are reassured by the fact that the professional advice they receive is provided without any outside pressures. There are no sales mandates at Levitt Capital Management. Unlike other wealth management advisory firms that limit the client experience to a single advisor, LCM fosters teamwork across our expansive roster of experienced advisors and other professionals – ensuring that clients benefit from the capabilities of the firm as a whole. This experienced, focused team knows, inside and out, the full spectrum of cross-border wealth management, fiduciary, trust, tax, retirement, pension and estate planning issues and other concerns of US citizens living in Continental Europe.
“We empower you throughout your journey, delivering actionable and measurable results while implementing your investment portfolio with European considerations,” says LCM founder Robert Levitt. « We are investment-centric, developing our core investment strategies in-house, using global publicly traded securities suitable for US citizens. We provide independent counsel on all areas of wealth management including the appropriate custodians in the U.S. of Europe. We do not create or use proprietary investment products.”
LCM believes in providing advice that is client-centric, meaning advice that is in your best interests, acting as fiduciaries, taking into consideration your tolerance for risk and aspirational goals. The firm is dual-registered because of the regulatory framework, so is licensed to advise clients on and place them in both European investment products as well as global securities, if appropriate. LCM qualifies as an exempt foreign advisor under Rule 202(a)(30) of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
From their headquarters in Nice, France, LCM aspires to be the dominant advisory firm in their segment: serving U.S. citizens, regulated in Europe.
